About the role

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the General Manager – Lumber and senior leadership team. This is a pivotal commercial leadership role, partnering with the business to shape strategy, optimise commercial outcomes, and support the long-term success of our NZD 283 million export-focused lumber business.

As a trusted business partner, you will provide commercial insight, financial analysis, and market intelligence to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth. Working across manufacturing, international markets, and commercial strategy, you will help translate customer demand, operational performance, and market dynamics into commercial outcomes that drive business success.

Key areas of focus and exposure include:

• International sales, export markets, and global customer dynamics

• Manufacturing performance, operational optimisation, and large-scale export operations

• Commercial strategy, pricing, margin management, and business partnering

• Financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and investment evaluation

• Strategic decision-making in partnership with senior leadership

• Complex commercial and operational challenges across the value chain

• Growth initiatives and high-impact projects that drive long-term business performance and value

About you

We are looking for a commercially astute leader who combines strong analytical capability with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

You will ideally bring:

• CAANZ or equivalent professional qualification

• Significant senior commercial, management accounting or finance experience

• Strong background within manufacturing, processing, industrial or export-focused sectors

• Deep understanding of product costing, margin analysis and operational finance

• Experience supporting international customers and export markets
