Drymill Operator
Get hands-on with machinery and help deliver quality New Zealand timber products to international markets.
About the role
Join our Drymill team and play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards for customers around the world. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multiple machine centres within the Drymill. You will help ensure customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and to specification.
Full training will be provided, giving you the opportunity to become skilled across multiple machine centres and gain a broad understanding of our production process. Regular rotation between work areas ensures a varied role and ongoing development of your skills.
Machine centres include:
Bearer and Label Robots
Forklift Operations
Infeed Station
Grade Station
Stacker
Wrap Bay
Other specialised equipment
This is a rotating shift position working 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. You will rotate weekly through the following shift patterns:
Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Night Shift: 10:00pm – 6:00am
This role is based at our Whirinaki site, located just 15 minutes north of Napier.

Proven experience in a practical, hands-on role within a manufacturing, industrial, forestry, or similar environment
A willingness to learn and develop new skills

The ability to remain focused and perform well in a fast-paced environment
A strong commitment to health and safety
The ability to work effectively with others to achieve production goals
