We are seeking a motivated Wood Purchase Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in securing and managing private forest resources across Hawke’s Bay
About the Role
Join us as a Wood Purchase Coordinator and play a key role in securing and managing private forest resources across Hawke’s Bay. Working alongside the Wood Purchase Manager and wider Forests team, you will contribute to a sustainable, cost-effective log supply while building long-term partnerships with forest owners.
In this role, you will:
Liaise, negotiate, and purchase private forest lots
Build strong, lasting relationships with farmers, forest owners, and stakeholders
Monitor and support harvesting operations to ensure delivery and performance
Manage financial outcomes associated with wood purchases
Support strategic planning and long-term wood procurement initiatives
Contribute to the growth and future direction of our procurement business
Work collaboratively across teams to support operational success and deliver results
Play a part in a business that values sustainability, safety, and strong partnerships
This role is full-time position at our Whirinaki site.

About you
We are looking for a driven and adaptable professional ready to make an impact and thrive in a fast-paced forestry environment, bringing:
2–5 years’ relevant industry experience (harvesting/engineering advantageous)
Experience with contracts, contractor management, and project delivery
A positive, adaptable approach in fast-paced environments
Strong organisation, time management, and ability to meet deadlines
Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail
Sound judgement and practical problem-solving ability
A collaborative team mindset with strong relationship-building skills
Effective negotiation skills
A forestry qualification (preferred, not essential)
