Sawmill Operator
Operate a range of machine centres in a large‑scale Sawmill and become a key part of the production process.
About the role
As one of Pan Pac’s Sawmill Operators, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of multiple machine centres within the Sawmill. Working as part of a critical production team, you will help ensure customer orders are processed to quality standards and prepared for export to global markets.
Full training will be provided, giving you the opportunity to become multi skilled across a range of different machine centres and tasks within the Sawmill. This is a hands on role offering variety, progression, and the chance to play a key part in supporting safe, high quality production.
This is a shift position, working 10-hour shifts (Monday to Saturday), over a three-week rotating roster. Working 4 days each week, the two shifts you rotate between are, 5.00am – 3.30pm & 3.30pm – 2.00am. This role is based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.

About You
You bring a practical, hands on approach to your work and are comfortable in a fast paced operational environment. You will also demonstrate:
Strong manual dexterity
Solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with machinery
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing production requirements
The ability to work well under pressure and meet operational demands
A strong focus on health and safety
A flexible, reliable attitude with a willingness to step in where needed
A proven team player mindset and the ability to work effectively with others
