About the role

The Lumber Quality Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Lumber business’s strategic objectives, by ensuring consistent product quality and driving continuous improvement across operations. In your role you will develop a strong understanding of Lumber processes and have a strong focus on data, analysis, systems, and process control. This will allow you to identify improvements to enhance value across the supply chain and inform decision-makers within operations.

The Lumber Quality Analyst also contributes to environmental and sustainability objectives, reinforcing Pan Pac’s commitment to responsible operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring alignment between grade specifications and automated grading output, by becoming an expert in our “Goldeneye” x-ray lumber scanner

• Analysing grade performance and identifying opportunities to improve grade outturn

• Supporting continuous improvement of systems, processes and controls

• Providing backup coverage for the Drymill Coordinator as required

• Applying structured root cause analysis to quality and customer issues and implementing corrective actions

About you

You bring a structured, analytical approach to product quality, compliance, and operational performance.

You will have:

• Experience in quality, analytics, or technical roles within manufacturing or processing environments

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and variances

• Understanding of production processes and quality specifications

• Exposure to quality systems and compliance requirements (e.g. ISO) advantageous

• Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement, and attention to detail

• Confidence working with operational teams and influencing stakeholders

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Strong systems literacy; SAP experience advantageous

• A relevant tertiary qualification
