About the Role
As one of our Forest Engineers, you’ll play a central role in maximising how we sustainably transform forests into high‑value products. Our team blends technical skill with on‑the‑ground problem solving, designing efficient roading networks, optimising harvest systems, and planning operations that prioritise safety, environmental stewardship, and value recovery. As a Forest Engineer, you will work across a diverse landscape, applying geospatial tools, analytical thinking, and practical field experience to create plans that shape the future of our forests.
In this role, you will directly influence operational outcomes by:
Developing high quality operational harvesting plans
Designing roads, landings, and forest infrastructure
Planning and managing stream crossing design and installation
Supervising engineering and quarry operations for safe, efficient delivery
Managing resource consents and conducting environmental monitoring
Assessing and validating harvesting and roading options to optimise performance
Preparing budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses for engineering projects
Setting and reviewing engineering productivity and performance targets
Maintaining and improving forest engineering databases

About you
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical foundation and a passion for applying innovative thinking to forest engineering challenges.
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Engineering
At least two years of practical, hands-on industry experience
Proficiency with engineering software and digital planning tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence
A high level of fitness and a genuine enthusiasm for working outdoors
A full New Zealand driver’s licence
A logical, methodical approach to problem solving
A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice
