Lubrication Tradesperson
Lead the lubrication programme for a major industrial site helping us produce quality products for global markets
About the opportunity
As the Lubrication Tradesperson for our Pulp business unit, you will take ownership of the lubrication programme across the pulpmill, boilers, utilities, and wastewater treatment plant. This is a hands on, routine driven role where your technical expertise, attention to detail, and proactive approach will help keep our operation running safely, efficiently, and consistently.
Your key responsibilities include:
Planning and completing daily lubrication tasks across a wide range of industrial equipment
Preparing and maintaining lubrication schedules and accurate maintenance records
Conducting routine equipment checks and identifying early signs of wear, degradation, or failure
Performing oil and grease sampling, fluid replenishment, and managing stock levels
Maintaining clean, well organised lubrication storage and dispensing areas
Supporting equipment reliability through proactive fault detection using sight, sound, and smell
Reviewing lubrication and filtration practices and contributing to process improvements
Assisting with maintenance tasks and collaborating with engineers, planners, operators, and other trades
Participating in shutdown activities to support efficient restarts
Participating in a 1 in 5 call roster
This role is a day position and based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.

About you
You bring a practical, solutions focused approach to mechanical work and thrive in a hands on, team based environment.
You have:
Strong mechanical aptitude and solid manual dexterity
A proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership of issues
Able to plan, organise, and prioritise work effectively within a small team
A strong focus on health and safety
Experience with Office 365 and CMMS systems
Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Lubrication experience or completion of a relevant lubrication course (preferred)
NZQA Level 4 Mechanical Engineering Trade Certificate (or similar), preferred
